Am fwy o wybodaeth darllenwch ein\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ldw.org.uk\/cy\/welsh-language-statement\/\">Datganiad Iaith Gymraeg<\/a>.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmc-uk.org\/about\/get-involved\/consultations\/review-of-our-consent-guidance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">updated guidance<\/a> focuses on the importance of communication, personalised conversations, and doctors and patients making decisions about treatment and care together.<\/p>\n<p>The guidance has been restructured and made it clearer, so it\u2019s easier for doctors to apply in practice. In addition, more advice has been provided, including steps to follow when making decisions in different circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>The guidance reflects the law, policy and healthcare settings in all four countries of the UK.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ldw.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/ISL189-18-ER-patient-questionnaire_FINAL_PRINT-READY.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">An easy read version of the consultation can be downloaded here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Tell us what matters to you<\/h2>\n<p>The consultation is open until <strong>Wednesday 23 January 2019<\/strong> and there are several ways you can take part.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ldw.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/ISL189-18-ER-patient-questionnaire_FINAL_PRINT-READY.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Read and complete the easy read version of the consultation.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsurvey.co.uk\/s\/EIJX7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-label=\"A survey for patients, carers and members of the public. Link type is external\">A survey for patients, carers and members of the public<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 aimed at those who may not be familiar with the guidance, but will have views on good consent practice.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gmc-mpts.smartconsultations.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-label=\"Full questionnaire for medical and lay professionals. Link type is external\">Full questionnaire for medical and lay professionals<\/a>\u00a0 \u2013 aimed at those with a detailed working knowledge of the policy, practice and law around consent. You\u2019ll need to read the guidance to answer the questions.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartsurvey.co.uk\/s\/C2A05\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" aria-label=\"A survey\u00a0 for doctors and other healthcare professionals.
