Entries are now open for the 2018 Accolades, the awards that recognise, celebrate and share excellent practice by organisations, groups or teams in social work, social care, early years and childcare in Wales.
Organised by Social Care Wales, the Accolades are a
chance for those who work in any form of care and support in the
public, independent or voluntary sectors to share their
achievements with colleagues across Wales.
For 2018, the Accolades will be celebrating projects or
- have had a positive effect on people's lives
- take equality, diversity and language preference into account
when meeting people's needs
- support staff development, and
- encourage service improvement by, for example, introducing new
models or increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
Sue Evans, Chief Executive of Social Care Wales, said: "We are
delighted that the Accolades are back for 2018. We know there's
lots of outstanding practice taking place in the social care and
childcare sectors in Wales and we are looking forward to shining a
light on those achievements once again.
"In 2015 the Accolades received a record number of entries and
we are keen to receive even more for 2018.
"I would urge anyone who works in social work, social care,
early years or childcare in Wales to think about entering.
Similarly, if you know of great practice that deserves to be
recognised, please encourage them to enter. "
The closing date for entries is 5pm, 9 February 2018.
