Learning Disability Wales is delighted to share with you that we will be a partner organisation to the new Welsh Youth Parliament which is launching in January 2019. We are looking forward to making sure that young disabled people are represented.

In January 2019 a Welsh Youth Parliament made of 60 young people
60 young people aged 11 - 18 from will become Welsh Youth
People will be able to elect 40 of them by voting in their
election in November 2018. In order to vote, people will need to
register. The remaining 20 will be elected by partner
organisations. The parliament has been put together this way to

Every two-year session of the Welsh Youth Parliament will:
- Empower Wales' young people to identify, raise awareness of and
debate the important issues that are important to them.
- Listen to young people in Wales, represent their views, and act
on the issues that are important to them.
- Work with young people in Wales, share what they are doing with
the issues young people have raised.
They will be working directly with the National Assembly for
Wales to make young people's voices heard, by those with the power
to make change.
