Welsh Government – Easy Read Healthy eating in schools survey

May 2025 | Welsh Government want to know what you think.

We worked with the Welsh Government to create an Easy Read version of their consultation about food and drink in schools in Wales.

The survey looks at ways to improve school meals and help children develop healthy eating habits.

It explains why healthy school food matters and outlines the proposed changes. It looks at improving primary school meals, giving better guidance to schools and councils, and understanding food in secondary schools.

Some of the changes include more fruit and vegetables, healthier drinks, smaller portions for younger children, and better breakfasts options.

The Welsh Government wants to hear from learners, parents, school staff, food suppliers and the wider public. Your feedback will help shape healthier school meals for the future.

Please send your replies to them by 29 July 2025.

We also made a Welsh Easy Read version of the survey. Both are digitally accessible for screen readers and assistive technology users.
