About Gig Buddies

Gig Buddies Cymru matches people with a learning disability with someone without a learning disability who shares the same interests, so they can go to gigs and events together.

Gig Buddy partnerships get together to have fun at loads of different events and activities like wrestling matches, concerts, football matches and more.

Gig Buddies Cymru currently works in Anglesey, Bridgend, Cardiff, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Vale of Glamorgan, and Wrexham.

In Wales, Gig Buddies Cymru is run by Learning Disability Wales. Other Gig Buddies projects are running in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Australia.

I’m running for Gig Buddies because I work with people with a learning disability and I believe they should be given the same opportunities as everybody. I believe the work of gig buddies is truly fantastic.

I have worked with adults with learning disabilities since I was 16 years old. The majority of individuals do not get the opportunity to go out to the pub or attend any concerts. This charity I am running for does this amazing thing, and supports individuals to attend a pub or concert for the first time.

Gig Buddies is an amazing charity that helps reduce loneliness for people with a learning disability.
