It’s Learning Disability Week from 14 to 20 June 2021 and this year’s theme is art and creativity.

Online gig with music and comedy
Gig Buddies Cymru has teamed up with major UK band IDLES to increase access to live events for people with learning disabilities.
With stand-up comedy from Stewart Lee, Seann Walsh and Josh Weller and music from mclusky, Katy J Pearson, Willie J Healey, TV Priest, Fenne Lily, Dogeyed and Wilderman.
The event will be streamed from Exchange in Bristol on Sunday 20th June. Tickets are available to purchase now for a suggested donation of £5 with an additional option to enter the raffle.
Money raised from the event will be split between Gig Buddies Cymru and developing a Bristol chapter of Gig Buddies.
Gig Buddies Cymru raffle
Following the gig, next Tuesday 22 June Gig Buddies will announce the winners to the raffle.
Raffle prizes include:
- Radiohead – Kid A test pressing
- Fender Squire Stratocaster signed by all Gig Buddies live stream performers
- IDLES – signed Ultra Mono test pressing + artwork
- And many more!

Easy read guide to raffle prizes at the online gig
Connections Cymru
At Learning Disability Wales, we want people with a learning disability to have the best chances to be connected to people and their communities so that is why we have set up this new network called Connections Cymru.
The network will meet 4 times a year. It will come together to hear people’s stories, showcase good practice, work together to create solutions, and offer challenge and focus.
The next meeting will be held online on Wednesday 7 July from 10am to 11.30am.
