Earlier this year our Easy Read Wales team asked what easy read information was needed in Wales, with a promise to produce new resources to fill the most important gaps.
The majority of responses asked for information around sexual health and relationships. Following this, Easy Read Wales can announce they will be working with Cwmni Addysg Rhyw – Sex Education Company to create a brand new resource.
Cwmni Addysg Rhyw – Sex Education Company are a social enterprise based in North Wales. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience in delivering high quality education and training about sexual health and relationships for vulnerable groups.
Rhian McDonnell, Accessible Communications Officer at Easy Read Wales said: “We are delighted to be working with Cwmni Addysg Rhyw – Sex Education Company to create free easy read resources around sexual health and relationships.
“Our next step is to undertake a scoping review to find out what documents already exist. We will be asking where the gaps are and where improvements can be made. We will assess what we find, so we can come up with a shortlist of topics that look most useful.
“We will share the top 5 topics and ask people to vote for their favourite one. We will then make the winning idea into easy read later this year.”
When the new resource is finished it will be available for free on the Easy Read Wales section of our website. We will also run an information campaign to promote the new resource.
