Learning Disability Wales’ popular accessible information service, Easy Read Wales, has today (6 January 2026) launched its brand-new website. The words 'Our new Easy Read Wales website' above a laptop and smartphone showing the home page of the website.

After months of hard work, the Easy Read Wales team can now showcase their services, resources and expertise on their very own site: www.easyread.wales.

Easy Read Wales has grown to become one of the most respected and in-demand Easy Read services in the UK, producing high quality accessible information for a wide range of clients including the Welsh Government, local authorities, health boards, charities and private businesses. The not-for-profit service helps organisations to better include people with a learning disability by making their information simpler, clearer and easier to understand.

This is done in the following ways:

  • Easy Read documents
  • Easy Read videos
  • Plain English
  • Cymraeg Clir
  • Large print
  • Youth-friendly information.

Easy Read Wales’ Accessible Communications Manager, Laura Griffiths, says that as a team they champion the need for good quality Easy Read. “Whether it’s a leaflet in a GP surgery, a health service website or a government consultation, we believe that everyone has the right to clear and understandable information.

“If organisations don’t provide accessible information for people with a learning disability, for example, they could be missing out on things like important health advice, job opportunities, support and sharing their experiences.”
