I’ve been working at Learning Disability Wales for a few months now. I work as a cleaner in Learning Disability Wales’ office In Llanishen, in Cardiff. My role is to keep the office clean and tidy.

I like the role because it keeps me active and motivated. Being part of the organisation is more important to me than what I do in my job. I have a connection with Learning Disability Wales that is important to me. This is because of the people I work with, and I like working with everyone. I like working with Learning Disability Wales because I have come from the same educational background.

I used to be a trustee for Learning Disability Wales, and I stopped doing this so I could I start the job. In the past I worked for Mencap Cymru as an admin assistant and a cleaner. During the start of my employment at Mencap Cymru I was supported by the Engage to Change project. I later became an ambassador for Engage to Change, promoting the project at public events.

My hobbies are kayaking and volunteering in Bute Park on the Salad Garden project, which involves growing salad for restaurants.

I am a Gig Buddy and enjoy building social connections through Gig Buddies. The memory that stands out for me is going to see the band TV Priest at Clwb Ifor Bach, as Gig Buddies used a photo of me at the gig in their leaflet.

I also enjoy spending time with my family.
